I Started a Mom Blog- After Regretfully Quitting the First Time

Motherhood has been an incredible journey, but it’s also been full of challenges. My baby was born a month early, which was a big surprise. I’m so thankful that he did really well, but we faced some struggles in the beginning (including a hospitalization). Breastfeeding also did not go as planned. After trying so hard to nurse, I ended up exclusively pumping for 407 days. Yes, I counted! It was a long and emotional journey, and I dealt with a lot of guilt, feeling like I had failed at something so important. On top of that, I experienced postpartum depression, which made the first year even harder.

But through it all, I’ve been so thankful for my son. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and being his mom fills my heart with more love than I ever thought possible.

Why now?

Now that we’ve made it past his first year, I finally feel like myself again. I’m done pumping, which has opened up more time during naps and quiet moments to focus on something I’m passionate about. Instead of power pumping, I can write and create.

I’ve also decided to let go of the fear of failure. Starting this blog feels like a leap of faith, but my fiancé has been my biggest cheerleader, encouraging me to do something I enjoy—regardless of how big or small it might become.

One of the reasons I started this blog was to connect with other moms. And it’s time to do that!  I don’t have a lot of mom friends, and sometimes motherhood can feel isolating. I hope to create a community of like-minded parents where we can share ideas, encouragement, and support as we navigate this journey together.

What will I be sharing?

This blog is my creative outlet and a way to connect with other moms while celebrating the joy and fun of motherhood. The plan is to share:

• Simple Play Activities: Fun, easy setups that my son loves.

• My Must-Have Products: Essentials for moms, babies, and toddlers, from play tools to favorite toys.

• Real Mom Life: The good, the messy, and everything in between

. • Our Playroom Project: We’re creating a playroom for my son from scratch. Since he doesn’t have a room of his own, we’re turning part of our family room into a fun and functional space just for him. I can’t wait to share the process.

I love creating these activities, filming and editing moments with my son, and sharing them with other moms who can hopefully find inspiration or reassurance here.

This space is something I can call my own—a way to connect, create, and celebrate this incredible journey. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me. If you’re also starting a blog or thinking about creating one, I’d love to connect and support each other on this exciting journey. Add me on Instagram!

  1. Thank you for sharing your motherhood journey. It takes so much strength and courage to open up about something that’s shaped you into a better version of yourself. I’ll definitely support you in any way I can. One day, I hope to find the courage to share my own motherhood story, but for now, I’m just embracing the moment.
